OptiSoil Laboratory Expansion: Advancing Capacity and Quality Control
At OptiSoil we have been busy over the last few months investing in our lab, with new instruments, processes and people to improve throughput and ensure we maintain quality control. We are moving beyond a boutique soil lab and are poised for significant growth.
- ICP installed
- New oven has been installed
- 2 chemists employed
- Additional casual lab staff engaged
- Farm Lab sampling app for “field to lab” sample and data management.
- LIMS taking shape
We have recently installed an Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) which has added to the number of analytes we can measure as well as increasing productivity. Another oven has been installed, again to improve throughput. Our laboratory information system (LIMS) is now taking shape with many processes now being rolled out to assist lab staff in data entry and management. Last month we added to our casual staff pool and employed 2 very qualified chemists. We have enhanced the infield sampling experience by offering sampling plans to be uploaded into the Farm Lab App.
In combination these actions have meant we have significantly added to our capacity, improving turnaround times, maintaining quality whilst introducing more staff and creating a smooth field to lab experience.
