Lab Technician

Location: Inverell, NSW
Department: Soil Analysis and Research
Reports to: Laboratory Manager

Overview:

At OptiSoil, we pride ourselves on our commitment to advancing the science of soil management. Our state-of-the-art laboratory is at the heart of our operations, and we are currently seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our soil analyses are conducted with precision, accuracy, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sample Preparation: Receive, log, and prepare soil samples for analysis.

• Conduct Tests: Perform a variety of soil tests, including but not limited to pH, nutrient profiling, microbial assessments, and moisture content.

• Maintain Equipment: Ensure that all laboratory equipment is calibrated, functional, and clean. Report any malfunctions or discrepancies to the Laboratory Manager.

• Data Recording: Accurately record test results and ensure that data is entered into our digital system in a timely manner.

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.

• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest techniques and advancements in soil analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or a related field.

• Previous experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
