Lab Technician
Location: Inverell, NSW
Department: Soil Analysis and Research
Reports to: Laboratory Manager
Overview:
At OptiSoil, we pride ourselves on our commitment to advancing the science of soil management. Our state-of-the-art laboratory is at the heart of our operations, and we are currently seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our soil analyses are conducted with precision, accuracy, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Sample Preparation: Receive, log, and prepare soil samples for analysis.

Conduct Tests: Perform a variety of soil tests, including but not limited to pH, nutrient profiling, microbial assessments, and moisture content.

Maintain Equipment: Ensure that all laboratory equipment is calibrated, functional, and clean. Report any malfunctions or discrepancies to the Laboratory Manager.

Data Recording: Accurately record test results and ensure that data is entered into our digital system in a timely manner.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest techniques and advancements in soil analysis.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or a related field.

Previous experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
